Keep Going #4 - The Inspiration
The Struggle
Inspiration is a fickle thing. It can be abundant one moment and absent the next. When it comes to content creation, finding inspiration to generate new, exciting ideas can be a daunting task especially when you're feeling drained or unmotivated.
The process of content creation itself is creative. It requires constant originality, especially these days where attention spans are dwindling. It's easy to feel like you've hit a wall, and you're out of fresh ideas. But remember, it's okay to feel uninspired sometimes. It's a normal part of the creative process.
Nurturing Creativity
So, how do you find inspiration when you're lacking ideas? The key is to nurture your creativity.
Take time to explore different interests, learn new things, and step outside of your comfort zone. Inspiration can come from the most unexpected places – find what works for you.
For me, it’s quickly jotting down ideas throughout the week or saving Instagram reels for inspiration, then sitting down every Saturday morning for a few hours, going through what I’ve saved throughout the week and turning them into potential scripts, I then fine tune the ideas and store them all in my content planner on Notion.
Allow yourself to be curious and open-minded. Sometimes, the best ideas come when you're not even actively looking for them.
Overcoming the Block
When you've hit a creative block, it's important not to force ideas. Instead, take a step back and give yourself a break. Do something that relaxes you, watching movies, catching up on your favourite YouTube creator videos, getting cooked on Warzone or reading a good book.
Remember, your value as a content creator is not defined by how many ideas you can generate in a day. It's about the quality of your content and the passion behind it.
Closing Thoughts
Finding inspiration for content is not always easy, but it's part of the journey. It's a challenge that tests your resilience and creativity. So, when you're feeling uninspired, remember why you started. Remember the joy and satisfaction you get from creating and sharing your work!
So, keep exploring and most importantly, keep creating.
NEW (ish) - I built a Notion Template.
A couple of months ago, I finished building a Notion template for managing all your social media content in one centralised hub. And for being subscribed to my newsletter, you can a discount!
I fine-tuned this template over the period of a few months, making constant tweaks and updates until I feel it’s perfect for taking all your content ideas from conception to creation.
